Six weeks beginning June 26-30 through August 7-11

Our classes emphasize individual skippering in a safe environment. Many beginning students rig, pilot (or steer) his or her assigned craft from "day one."
Our instructors are close at hand in our three safety boats to direct and encourage the students, as well as ensure student safety.  We also emphasize good sportsmanship and teamwork, with a goal that each student has fun each day. As students progress through a number of skill levels they are recognized at the end of each week at an awards ceremony that marks their success.
Students must be able to swim, bring a properly fitting life jacket if you have one, wear clothing that can get wet and wear closed-toe shoes. And of course a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle are recommended.

We teach nautical terms, knots, and seamanship, and our focus is on hands-on rigging, launching, and independent sailing.

And an important part of the lessons is an introduction to sailboat races.  See the Sunfish Races for information.
